AURAK Awards Top Achievers
With students preparing for their final exams as the 2016/17 nears its conclusion, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah has hosted its annual student recognition award ceremony.
With students preparing for their final exams as the academic year 2016/17 nears its conclusion, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah has hosted its annual student recognition award ceremony.
The ceremony, which took place in Building G’s new auditorium, recognized and rewarded students for achievements in a number areas, ranging from academics to community service and athletics. It was attended by students, faculty and staff, as well as the outstanding achievers and their proud parents.
Speaking about the event, Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK president, emphasized, “This is one of my favorite events of the year. It is wonderful to reach the end of the academic year, and to see these young people rightfully rewarded for their tremendous efforts.
“Whether you have been awarded for the highest GPA, research, active participation in the community, or sporting excellence, you are a credit to this university, and I speak for everyone at this institution when I say that we are all very proud of you.”
The awards were presented by Prof. Bilal Akash, vice president of academic affairs, as well as the respective deans, Profs. Steven Zani, Abdullah Alhumoud, Mousa Mohsen and Lee ‘Rusty’ Waller.
