AURAK Crowned HCT Basketball Champions
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah basketball team were last week crowned champions after winning the 2017 HCT Basketball Championship.
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah basketball team were last week crowned champions after winning the 2017 HCT Basketball Championship.
Following a year of exceptionally hard work and commitment, the team were rewarded following a superb performance in the final which saw them defeat the home side, HCT, 16-6. AURAK finished the tournament as the only side with a perfect record, winning every game.
Sports coordinator, Perry Fernandes, expressed his satisfaction at seeing the year end with much-deserved success. He praised the team’s efforts, while reserving a special mention for the coach, Dr. Nacer Jabnoun.
Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK president, was quick in congratulating the team upon hearing the news, stating, “Congratulations to all of you on this remarkable achievement. I am really proud of our basketball team and the coach, as is the entire AURAK community".
