AURAK Engineering Students won three competitions in IEEE Students Day 2021

AURAK Engineering Students have succeeded in winning three prizes in the IEEE Student Day 2021. The event which was held on 6th of November, 2021 is one of the most prestigious student events in UAE. It is organized annually by IEEE UAE section. 

Supervised by our outstanding faculty members, the students were able to achieve the 1st place in the Senior Design Project competition for both the categories of Computing and Robotics as well as Power and Renewable energy. Our School of Engineering students also secured ranking 3rd place in the Community Service competition.

The Award winning students are: 

First Place Winner: (Senior Design Project competition, power and renewable energy category)

Project title: Photovoltaic System Efficiency Improvement Using Machine Learning

Students: Maryam Al Ali, Naema Alharmi, Ghaya Alhebsi, Reem AlNuaimi and Muna AlShehhi

Supervisor: Dr. Maen Takruri and Dr. Maissa Farhat  

First Place Winner: (Senior Design Project competition, computing and robotics)

Project title: Machine Learning Assisted Driver Drowsiness Detection System

Students: Yaman Sufian Albadawi, Aneesa Ibrahim Al Redhaei and Safia Saeed Mohamed

Supervisor: Dr. Ali Alnoman 

Third Place Winner: (Community service competition)

Project title: Covid Smart Guard

Students: Hessh Alnuaimi and Assma Alzaabi

Supervisor: Dr. Khouloud Salameh
