ABET accreditation assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public. ABET accreditation reviews look at program curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support and are conducted by teams of highly skilled professionals from industry, academia, and government, with expertise in the ABET disciplines.

Currently, AURAK has six ABET accredited programs: computer engineering, electronics and communications engineering, civil and infrastructure engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, and mechanical engineering. The remaining three programs: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and petroleum engineering programs will be reviewed by ABET during the current academic year (2018-2019).

With the acquisition of these accredited programs to further solidify the rigorous AURAK curriculum internationally, the university president, Professor Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, is nothing short of delighted with the progress of the University curriculum, “’Little by little, one travels far.’ Every day the AURAK faculty and staff strives to provide students with a quality education that will enable them to excel in the professional, global community.  These accreditations serve as validation of the hard work and exuberant passion of the AURAK family and as a testament for the university accrual as it progresses further as an accomplished, internationally recognized institution.”

ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). It currently accredits over 3,800 programs at over 750 colleges and universities in 31 countries.
