On April 21 and April 22nd, 2015, AURAK hosted its annual Open Day event at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah campus. Booths were set up in the gymnasium by various departments and schools within AURAK, including Admissions, Student Life, International Student Office, Center for Continuing Education, the School of Arts & Science, the School of Business and the School of Engineering.
The idea of the event stemmed from the need to make people aware of the career possibilities in the areas of Engineering, Business, Arts and Science. Both professors and AURAK students greeted local high school students from both Ras Al Khaimah public and private schools who are considering attending AURAK in the Fall of 2015.
A large number of students, representing a good mix of cultural backgrounds from all of the Emirates were represented at the two-day event. “We are pleased with the turnout of local high school students and hope to see some of them on our campus in the Fall of 2015,” said Dr. Richard Gauvain, Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at AURAK.
