AURAK Hosts High School Sports Competition

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has once again hosted its annual high school sports competition, inviting schools from across the emirate to compete in football and cricket.

A number of schools participated in the tournaments, with Saeed bin Jubair Secondary School taking the football trophy home following a 3-1 victory over New Indian School in the final.

Mr. Perry Fernandes, the university’s student life officer responsible for sports, commented, “I always look forward to this end of year tournament. It is an opportunity for us to identify students who we hope to convince to join our sports teams in the future. On the other hand, it is also an opportunity for these students to see the fantastic facilities we have at AURAK.”

As the university’s five-year campus development continues, the sports complex is one area which has undergone significant change, with the football field being re-laid, tennis and basketball courts given new surfaces and a new running track installed.
