The award was received by Professor Mousa Mohsen, dean of the School of Engineering, at a ceremony at the IEEE UAE Section annual general meeting at the Le Meridien Hotel and Conference Centre in Dubai. The ceremony was also attended by Professor Amjad Omar, Dr. Maen Takruri and a group of AURAK IEEE student branch members.
The strategic partnership has come about as part of the distinguished effort made by the School of Engineering and the Department of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering in serving the IEEE, especially in light of the success of the 5th International Conference on Electronic Devices, Systems and Applications (ICEDSA 2016) which was held at AURAK in December, 2016.
The ICEDSA conference was organized by AURAK in conjunction with its strategic partner, the Universiti Teknologi Mara, a Malaysian university based in Shah Alam – Selangor. Speaking at the time of the conference, Professor Mousa Mohsen, commented, “The fact that we are hosting such a prestigious conference is a demonstration of how quickly this university is developing. IEEE is the most distinguished professional association in our field, so it is a great honor for us to be the hub for this event, where great minds have come to interact and share knowledge.”
