AURAK Ranks with SCImago

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has been ranked for the first time with The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR).

SIR is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact measured by their web visibility. For the ranking purposes, the calculation is generated each year from the results obtained over a period of five year ending two years before the edition of the ranking. The inclusion criterion is that the institutions had published at least 100 works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected period of time.

AURAK is an independent, public, state-owned, non-profit, coeducational institution that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. AURAK is an institution of higher education that provides comprehensive academic programs based on the North American model and the cultural characteristics of the Gulf region. Its undergraduate programs combine a strong grounding in the major subject with a broad general education, and its graduate programs prepare students for the demands of professional life. Among UAE universities, SIR has officially ranked AURAK 9th of the top eleven universities. AURAK ranked within the 94th percentile Overall, 79th concerning Research, 98th for Innovation, and in 100th Societal Impact.
