AURAK Signs MoU with EMDI
The American University of Ras AI Khaimah (AURAK) President Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, and EMDI Institute of Media & Communication (EMDI) Deputy General Manager, Ms. Arundhati Sen, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in a signing ceremony to promote educational and vocational training cooperation.

The partnership is aimed to provide professional training in unconventional careers which will give a competitive edge to the youth of Ras Al Khaimah not just in the United Arab Emirates but globally. EMDI, which is one of the UAE’s leading institutes for Media, Creative and Entertainment training, will provide professional certified courses in the field of media and communication through the Center of Continuing Education and Community Services at AURAK. The two parties agreed to promote academic and practical cooperation by developing and implementing programs aimed towards student recruitment in external markets, non-credit courses in Event Management, Communication, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, Hospitality Management, Wedding Planning, and Sports Management in the form of classroom training, workshops, and other relevant initiatives. AURAK promised to promote EMDI courses to the AURAK and UAE communities, conduct orientations for incoming students enrolled in EMDI courses, provide classroom space for EMDI courses, make arrangements to utilize its website or other e-learning courseware for archiving lectures, and provide space for EMDI representatives while on roadshows marketing programs.
Commenting on the university’s latest accord, Professor Hassan stated, “I am thrilled with collaborating with EMDI in that AURAK students will have access to educational, industry expertise in the field of media and communication, an industry consistently progressing further with the advancement of technology and a driving force of the global economy. Our students will have an advantage over their job market counterparts upon graduation with the benefits afforded to them by EMDI.”
At the signing ceremony, Ms. Arundhati Sen, Deputy General Manager, EMDI Institute Dubai said “Over the years we have seen Ras Al-Khaimah grow exponentially with a keen focus on tourism and the development of the younger generation. As an Institute that is equally committed to aiding this learning curve, emerging professionals and entrepreneurs will benefit from AURAK’s model of training and equipping them with new age skills.
