AURAK Signs MoU with RAK Center for Statistics and Studies

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies.

The agreement aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two entities within the field of statistical analysis, in terms of the preparation of university publications and training. It is envisioned that the center will also organize training courses for students and provide them with opportunities to actively participate in field surveys and the collection of data. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) provides a platform for mutual benefit.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, AURAK president, and Mr. Ibrahim Akoum, executive director of the Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies.

The agreement represents the importance of cooperation and the university’s commitment to community service. It also underlines AURAK’s effort to the development of well-rounded graduates, especially within the School of Business, who are able to successfully gain employment in a highly-competitive labor market.

As stated in the agreement, the Ras Al Khaimah Center for Statistics and Studies will soon hold a meeting with business majors in order to explain the work carried out by the center and the opportunities available in terms of training and recruitment.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Al Alkim stressed the significance of the partnership, stating, “For us, this agreement is particularly important, as it creates another training platform for our students, enabling them to apply the knowledge gained at the university to a real-life environment. Thus, they acquire work experience which will be of their advantage when it comes to seeking employment.

“Furthermore, statistics are playing an increasingly important role in this age where we see technological advancement accelerating at an astonishing rate. We are always seeking ways in which we can collaborate with industry leaders so that we can benefit our students, the university, and the community as a whole.”
