Faculty from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) met to begin the process of drawing up the university’s Quality Enhancement Program (QEP).
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success, Professor Stephen Wilhite, outlined the program’s aims for faculty at the university and called for ideas to incorporate into it.
He said proposals should ideally be developed by groups that include faculty, staff, and students. The meeting included a brainstorming session.
Every university with accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) creates a focused, university-wide initiative to help students achieve their maximum potential. It is designed to increase student learning at the university.
AURAK was granted SACSCOC accreditation in December 2018 following an intensive, multi-year effort that involved every member of the AURAK community.
In 2023, the university must seek reaffirmation of accreditation by SACSCOC. A major part of that application for accreditation reaffirmation will be the submission of a report on the QEP.
