The winners of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah’s creative writing competition were this week awarded for their achievement.

The competition, which was initiated by Drs. Khaledah Al Mansoori and Imed Louhichi from the School of Arts and Sciences, aimed to reward high-achieving students for their work. Following the inclusive policy adopted by AURAK, Drs. Khaledah and Imed put forth the proposal to celebrate the writing talents of the university’s gifted student population, and not limited to those who study within the Languages and Literature Department.

Commenting on the competitions success, Dr. Khaledah stated, “The response has been overwhelming. Our brilliant students have submitted amazingly creative stories and poems – so amazing in fact, that the panel of examiners found it extremely difficult to narrow-down the entries to select the five winners. All submissions have shown excellence in the way they have embraced the given prompts and have developed creative plots.”

The winners included Hiba Tarabishi, Lubna Khalil, Shoug Al Sharhan (all studying business administration), Asma Malika (computer science) and Zeena Assaf (architecture). Congratulations to all of our winners!
