German Consul General Visits AURAK
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has received a visit from the consul general of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Guenter Rauer.
The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has received a visit from the consul general of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Guenter Rauer.
Meeting with the provost, Prof. Bilal Akash, the dean of the School of Engineering, Prof. Mousa Mohsen, and chair of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Dr. Ahmad Sakhrieh, the two parties discussed a range of possibilities for increased cooperation.
Specifically, the potential of the German language was discussed, following on from the university’s meeting with Dr. Gabriele Landwehr, general director of the Goeth-Institut in Abu Dhabi. Further collaboration with German industrial partners and institutions of higher education was also on the agenda.
In April 2016, AURAK hosted the Energy and Water in the Gulf Cooperation Council (EWGCC) workshop in collaboration with Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, a university of applied sciences based in Germany. The workshop was supported by German Research Foundation (DFG).
