RAK Hackaton
Two teams from AURAK School of engineering won the 1st two positions in the Emirates Hackathon – Ras Al Khaimah. They competed with around 30 teams at the event hosted earlier by AURAK.
Two teams from AURAK School of engineering won the 1st two positions in the Emirates Hackathon – Ras Al Khaimah. They competed with around 30 teams at the event hosted earlier by AURAK.
Dr. Mohammed Awad, the Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Ms. Aisha El Allam, a research Engineer at ICONET, won first place for their idea, Salamtak. Salamtak is an innovative application that uses Machine Learning to address under-reported food poisoning incidents and subsequently hold food providers accountable.
Second place went to another AURAK team with Smart Street, an idea that aims to solve rainwater accumulation on the streets of RAK and then treat and utilize this water. Smart Street consisted of four members, three of whom are current AURAK students from the school of Engineering: Ms. Shaza Hammoud, Ms. Maryam Al Zaabi, and Ms. Somaya AlBlooshi.
