The answer for Mariana was simple when she was asked “why are you giving blood?” “People will need this blood.”
Shaik Abdu Kareem, a driver for AURAK gave this response, “It saves lives. A lot of people need blood from accidents. If there is any way to help, we should do it. I need to help, and this is how I can help. Next time it might be me that needs blood.”
By the end of the event, fifty-five members of the AURAK family donated blood to the Saqar Hospital to help those in need.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Lee Waller, was extremely proud of his AURAK family in their response to the needs of the community,
“Our AURAK students demonstrated their great compassion and humanity with an overwhelming response to the Blood Drive. All of us are very proud of this demonstration of their dedication to the community and nation.”
